In 2020, Rekosistem was selected as one of the startups to join the MRTJ ACCEL program, a collaboration between MRT Jakarta and local startups to empower the digital economy in developing business and commercial services that have a social impact through the MRT platform.
In addressing the growing waste crisis, we have developed products that enable Indonesians to manage their waste responsibly. We ensure that inorganic waste gets properly sorted and recycled by Rekosistem partners, and we turn organic waste into biogas and biofertilizer. All in all, this helps to reduce the amount of waste that ends up in landfills.
This project has been publicly opened starting February 2021 at Blok M MRT Station. Every user could experience Rekosistem products that consist of:
(1) Rebox: an Internet of Things (IoT) connected Box that collects plastic packaging waste. Rebox helps users to dispose of plastic bottled waste in the easiest and rewarding way before traveling by MRT.
(2) Waste Station Rekosistem: Waste Drop Points (Waste Station) to make it easier to send their inorganic waste to Rekosistem and get rewards. Especially for MRT users who are going to travel. All the rewards are recapped to
(3) Rekosistem App: An application that connects Rebox and Waste Station and generates reward and data for each activity. In addition to individual users, Rekosistem currently manages organic and inorganic waste at Blok M MRT Station which has been going on since December 2020.
